There are frivolous lawsuits and then there are epically STUPID lawsuits. This was proven in Oregon this week when a 20-year-old man tried to buy ammunition from a Fred Myers and was denied. Fred Meyer, part of the Kroger chain of stores in the West, announced on March 1 that they would no longer sell firearms or ammunition to people under 21. This decision was the chain’s response to the Parkland, Florida shooting on Valentine’s Day that killed 17.
Airion Grace tried to purchase shotgun shells at the Fred Meyer’s ammunition counter and was denied because of his age. It’s akin to trying to buy alcohol when you’re 20 – it isn’t going to happen. However, there are still plenty of other retail stores that will sell guns and ammunition to people 18-years-old and above. Grace gives no shits and is now suing the Kroger corporation for … wait for it… age discrimination.
According to The Oregonian, Grace is suing on multiple grounds beyond the age issue. These are as follows:
- Injunctive relief requiring Defendant to stop unlawfully discriminating against 18, 19, and 20-year-old customers at all Oregon locations.
- Punitive damages.
- Reasonable costs and attorney fees.
- Such other relief deemed just and equitable.
Punitive damages? Come on, man. Go to any other store that sells shotgun shell to those 18 and older. It’s quite simple. These 2nd Amendment nuts are the first to call liberals sensitive, but they get butthurt at the slightest mention of gun control. It’s like a daily hypocrisy lesson.
Be prepared for more lawsuits of this nature. The NRA is suing Florida for raising the minimum age to 21 to buy firearms and increasing the waiting period to three days. The ammosexuals will follow suit.
