Bombshell Emails Reveal Trump Official Saying ‘Russia Threw The Election’ To Them

in Daily New Bite/News/Politics/Republican Lies/Trump by

The Trump-Russia collusion problem just keeps getting more and more stressful for President Donald Trump. With the revelation last week that former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn had turned on him, Trump has been in a bit of a tizzy and lashing out on Twitter. While we are somewhat accustomed to his random, insane, and often incomprehensible tweets, he may be about to get even worse.

Former White House deputy national security adviser K.T. McFarland has been identified as a “senior transition official” who had a meeting with Flynn in 2016  to discuss “the U.S. sanctions against Russia and potential retaliation from Moscow.” McFarland emailed a friend that “when she was on Trump’s transition team that Russia ‘threw’ the U.S. election to Trump.”

The email was reportedly discussing the sanctions and alluded to the fact that sanctions imposed by then-president Barack Obama would be difficult on Trump in attempting to improve diplomatic relations with Russia. From the New York Times:

On Dec. 29, a transition adviser to Mr. Trump, K. T. McFarland, wrote in an email to a colleague that sanctions announced hours before by the Obama administration in retaliation for Russian election meddling were aimed at discrediting Mr. Trump’s victory. The sanctions could also make it much harder for Mr. Trump to ease tensions with Russia, “which has just thrown the U.S.A. election to him,” she wrote in the emails obtained by The Times.

White House officials deny everything (are you surprised?) and claim that the emails from McFarland merely imply that she was “referring to the Democrats’ portrayal of the election.” The emails reveal that Trump’s transition was embroiled in trying to deal with the Russians, and reassured them that they would work to lift the sanctions imposed by Obama.

After denying for so long that he discussed the sanctions with then-Russian Ambassador to the U.S. Sergey Kislyak, the admittance by Flynn that he did, indeed discuss sanctions before Trump assumed office flies in the face of the almost constant denials of wrong-doing by Trump and his team.

Flynn was relieved of his duties after 24 days as the National Security Adviser. It was originally put out that Trump’s reason for firing Flynn was that he lied Vice President Pence. Trump tweeted:

I had to fire General Flynn because he lied to the Vice President and the FBI. He has pled guilty to those lies. It is a shame because his actions during the transition were lawful. There was nothing to hide!

That has caused speculation on how much Trump knew about Flynn’s lies to the FBI on the day he fired Flynn. It was revealed that the tweet was actually posted by Trump’s legal team, but that question still remains.

It may be awhile yet before Special Counsel Robert Mueller finishes his investigation and we have answers to the burgeoning plethora of questions surrounding the whole Trump campaign and every second of his presidency. What will be remembered after all is said and done is that America is suffering through the most corrupt presidency in her history. Congratulations, Mr. Nixon, you are no longer the biggest crook to have occupied the Oval Office.
