Ruth Bader Ginsburg has put a spoke in conservatives’ wheel after declaring that she has no plans of stepping down from the Supreme Court anytime soon. At 84, Ginsburg is the oldest sitting Supreme Court justice and has been serving for 24 years.
Speaking at the Equal Justice Works, Ruth Bader Ginsburg noted that she’ll continue serving at “full steam”.
My answer is as long as I can do the job full steam, I will do it. I used to have an answer, it worked for a lot of years. It was Justice Brandeis, when he was appointed he was the same age as I was, 60. And he stayed for 23 years, so I expect to stay at least as long. Well, now I’ve passed Brandeis, I’ve passed Frankfurter.

Ruth Bader Ginsburg is perhaps the most liberal-leaning justice on the bench, and isn’t afraid of showing it either. Last year, amidst the presidential campaign, Ginsburg mocked Donald Trump much to the dismay of Trumpsters across the nation.
At first I thought it was funny to think that there’s a possibility that he could be president. I can’t imagine what this place would be — I can’t imagine what the country would be — with Donald Trump as our president. For the country, it could be four years. For the court, it could be — I don’t even want to contemplate that.
Multiple sources told Jonathan Swan of Axios, that Trump was angling to fill four Supreme Court justices’ seat during his tenure, with Gorsuch filling Scalia’s seat and the persistent rumor of justice Kennedy retiring in 2018.
Ok,” one source told Trump, “so that’s two. Who are the others?”
“Ginsburg,” Trump replied. “What does she weigh? 60 pounds?”
“Who’s the fourth?” the source asked.
“Sotomayor,” Trump said, referring to the relatively recently-appointed Obama justice, whose name is rarely, if ever, mentioned in speculation about the next justice to be replaced. “Her health,” Trump explained. “No good. Diabetes.”
If Ruth Bader Ginsburg comments are anything to go by, Trump’s plans are dead on arrival.
