To read the headlines, the Democrats are a hot mess. Leadership is floundering, the party is in disarray and oh my goodness whatever will we do to win elections again?!
Well, for starters, we could just go right ahead and win elections:
Dems flipped two very pro-Trump districts in special elections last night, There was a 28-point swing to Dems in NH. A 31-point swing in OK. pic.twitter.com/7nJuzpSjdf

Shhhh….we’re not supposed to talk about this! The Democratic Party is a mess and can’t win elections, remember?
Snark aside, it gets even worse when you consider that the Oklahoma seat has been red for at least a decade because it’s Oklahoma and that state is blood red. The last time they voted blue was in 1964 for Johnson.
The New Hampshire election was more of a swing seat but a 28% swing to the left is the kind of thing that makes Republicans lose sleep and night. And for good reason. A nationwide swing to the right of “only” 15 points would easily overcome the extreme gerrymandering of the GOP, putting the Democratic Party back in charge of the House. A swing of 20 points or higher would make the wave election of 2010 look like a ripple in a kiddie pool.
Republicans will insist that these elections mean nothing but that’s what the Democrats said leading up to 2010 and look how that turned out.
By the way, of the 38 special elections held since January, in only 8 did Republicans widen their lead. They lost ground in the other thirty, most of them by double digits, 13 of them by over 20 points.
Bernie people: It doesn’t matter what you think of the Democratic Party; If you give even the slightest damn about protecting this country from Trump and the Republicans, you vote blue.
Hillary people: It doesn’t matter what you think of Berniecrats; If you give even the slightest damn about protecting this country from Trump and the Republicans, you vote blue.
You don’t get to change anything unless you win elections.
