Everyone loves a good boycott, don’t they? It almost seems to be the “in” thing right now. National Rifle Association members are now boycotting YETI, the maker of super-efficient coolers and tumblers, because YETI announced they would no longer monetarily support the NRA.
YETI, which is based in Texas, has been beloved by many gun owners and other lovers of the outdoors because of how long their products keep liquids cold. Many hunters and outdoorsmen use their products for long days in the woods. Marion Hammer, the NRA’s Florida lobbyist wrote in a letter,
Suddenly, without prior notice, YETI has declined to do business with the NRA Foundation, saying they no longer wish to be an NRA vendor and refused to say why. They will only say they will no longer sell products to The NRA Foundation. That certainly isn’t sportsmanlike. In fact, YETI should be ashamed. They have declined to continue helping America’s young people enjoy outdoor recreational activities.
How has YETI “declined to continue helping” hunters and fisherman? They are still making products that are top notch. However, since they aren’t giving away money to gun pushers, some consumers feel they must jump on the bandwagon and destroy their expensive coolers that still work perfectly fine.
It’s all rather entertaining if we’re honest. You have to remember these are some of the same people who call teenager and Parkland survivor, David Hogg, a bully for wanting others to pull support from Laura Ingraham. Ridiculous, eh?
