For more than two years we have been saying that the support Donald Trump has is cult-like. Even, Trump himself acknowledged it when he said he could shoot someone in the middle of 5th Avenue and wouldn’t lose any supporters. The blinders that these people have for this man is almost unbelievable, but I never thought I’d see the day when one of them would proclaim Trump has more credibility than Jesus Christ. And, yet, here we are.
On Monday, CNN’s Alisyn Camerota interviewed a group of Trump supporters to see how they felt about the president a year after his election. She asked them if they had a problem with the president stocking his cabinet with multi-millionaires who are swampy as hell. Mark Lee, the owner of a pest control company, said,”I love that. They’re not politicians.” Lee truly believes the president is for the “little guy” and that wasn’t all. Lee went on to say:
If Jesus Christ gets down off the cross and told me Trump is with Russia, I would tell him, ‘Hold on a second. I need to check with the President if it’s true.’
That’s right, Trump is more trustworthy than Jesus. The guy who has lied more than 1,000 times since taking office has more credibility than the son of God. I’m not a religious person, at all, but the vast majority of Republican voters are and to hear one of them say this made me gasp. If Donald Trump went Jim Jones on these people and asked them to drink the kool-aid there is absolutely no doubt in my mind they would without hesitation. It’s sick.
